I know that I haven’t posted a lot lately, but that doesn’t mean I’m not flashing. One of the reasons why I haven’t posted in a while is because this blog isn’t really useful for posting long articles… I’ve written some articles about TileBased games, good practices, AS 2.0, Components, Scoping, etc, but I don’t have a good place to place them… I tried to put one of the articles on this blog, but the layout is completely wrong and I also experienced some bugs in the ActionScript highlighter…

If someone has a good ID as to where I can put my articles, (or if you’re a designer that does pro-bono work :p) please let me know!

… or at least one of them ;-).

I’ve heard a lot of people complain about how they can’t enable just 1 date and disable all the rest… Off course, you could write a big function that calculates a set of ranges that falls in between the dates you want enabled and set those ranges with ‘disabledRanges’.

Hi,

I just got back from my vacation at Rhodes (Greece). It was really nice, but way too hot!

This Monday, I will start my first real flash - job ever. I got a student job at www.dpdk.nl which has actually always been some sort of dream of mine. I really hope that I leave a good impression when I leave and that they won’t regret hiring me.

Now for some stuff that may actually interest someone: I bought a new book! No, not the latest f*cking harry potter (and I just lost all the reading harry-potter fans) but a really cool book about ActionScript animation. The book’s title is “ActionScript Animation - Making things move!” and it’s part of the Foundation series of Friends of Ed.

The book is written by Keith Peters, who is off course someone I look up to (Too bad he never bothered to reply on my comment on his blog though).

With this book, I now finally understand how colors work. I started playing around with colors a bit and I finally came up with this little color blender. It’s not that special, it just blends from one random color to another, and another, and another, and … . Maybe someone can use if for something or learn something from the source code.

It has been a while since I posted my last blog-post and I am sorry for that (Not that anyone would care, but It never hurts to be polite ).

Right now It’s the end of my year so I’m studiing hard to make sure I can pass to the next year. So I’m not experimenting a lot these days.

A few weeks ago, I’ve been experimenting with 3D. Here are some things that I’m now finally able to create. I’ve always been intriged by 3D in Flash (Through ActionScript) and now I finally understand the basics.
